Quantitative Economics

Quantitative Economics (Quanticon) is an economic consulting firm. Clients come to us for answers to what-if scenarios, like, "What would happen to profits in the shrimping industry if shrimpers received a special tax break?" or "How much damage could we expect to avoid over 30 years if we built $18 million in flood control projects along this waterway," or "what can well tell legislators the impact will be in terms of jobs created, income, and tax revenue if we expanded our hospital footprint in this region", or, more bleakly, "What's the dollar value of losing the three middle toes of your left foot."

Sometimes the answers to those questions are intended for own-use. Sometimes they are intended for an external decision maker. If a client purchases our services, they will receive an answer that corresponds to econometric techniques and available data, and they will get figures that other parties can have faith in. Our hard line is that we will not propvide a result based on a foregone, purchased conclusion by a client.

Our standard approach is to provide a written report answering the question posed. We will also provide a presentation to the client or local group at no additional cost.
